About New Journey
Pastor Ray Ewing
Ray Ewing is the founding pastor of New Journey Church in Twin Falls, Idaho. A 14-year veteran of both youth and adult ministry, Ray believes in a relational approach to ministry that focuses on outreach and spiritual growth. This is a vital opportunity to impact the world leaders of tomorrow as well as minster to them.
Ray met his wife Angela in 2001 at Chi Alpha, a college outreach ministry. They married in 2004 and then followed a call as missionaries to Louisiana in 2006. Together, they planted a new college ministry at the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2007 where God encouraged them to focus on diversity. That ministry strategy brought in students from a multitude of races, cultures, and backgrounds. Consequently, ULM Chi Alpha became the second largest ministry on campus in just two years.
While serving as a missionary at ULM in 2008, Ray accepted a call to serve as the Associate Pastor at the Mangham Assembly of God to primarily preach to the youth ministry. As Ray poured into both the ULM Chi Alpha ministry and the Mangham youth group, they were able to grow. In 2009, God blessed the Ewings with their daughter Allie.
Then in 2012, God called Ray to work as a full-time Associate Pastor in Farmerville, Louisiana. Once again, he was primarily growing the church’s youth group. In the midst of this ministry, God called the Ewing’s back home to Idaho. There, God opened doors for Ray to teach English and coach both basketball and football at Lighthouse Christian School. The relationships Ray built teaching and coaching propelled outreach for their youth group, allowing it to grow.
Angela served as the nurse manager at Sage Women’s clinic where she ministered, empowered, and equipped pregnant women. She currently works as a registered nurse at St. Lukes.
In 2018, Ray was hired as the pastor of Community Christian Church and God honored that calling by quickly growing its impact. After three years of service, Ray resigned and New Journey Church was founded in 2021.
